Pulaski Park

Public Park + Open Space / City of Holyoke, MA

Located in the heart of Holyoke’s downtown Mill District, Pulaski Park is a 20 acre riverfront park that serves a diverse user group, consisting of public housing residents, 2 middle schools (1 public, 1 private), and multiple affordable and market rate apartment sites. This heavy residential constituency abuts Holyoke’s downtown commercial district on 3 sides and an active railroad along its entire northern side, forcing Pulaski Park to be multi-faceted in its use and purpose.

Originally designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead, our work evaluated existing conditions and created a vision plan that coalesced the community desires with the improvement focus desired by the City.
