Montage at Danforth Green

Master Plan, Site & Landscape Design, Permitting / Framingham, MA

The Pulte Homes development team has taken a holistic planning approach in the reclaimation of this 100+ acre former gravel pit by incorporating a new urbanism approach. These principles focus on creating a complementary hierarchy of civic and private places found in a traditional village, providing a diversity of housing opportunities, establishing a circulation system that allow access to a variety of pedestrian scale spaces creating a walk-able community, and defining usable public open space that is integrated with the natural ecology of the area.

At the heart of the community is the Danforth Green. This public open space and the associated Community Center and pool is linked to the surrounding neighborhoods via formal sidewalks and meandering walking paths. As a walk-able community, each neighborhood is connected via a series open spaces that provide both active and passive recreation.

Waterfield Design completed the site design and permitting for Pulte Homes who subsequently sold the project to Baystone Development who then used Avalon and Brendon Homes to build out the project starting from 2016 throughh 2018.
